The well-known Fedoskino artist Alexey Chirkov is the creator of this stunning box. The work is called “Owl's Nest”, and shows an Owl nest on a tree in the forest. Here we can see the mother-owl flying over its nestlings with large wings. This box continues Chirkov's series of works dedicated to owls.Aluminum powder highlights the sky; and slightly visible gold paint highlights the detailes. The scene is framed with a wide band painted in gold. The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, the title and the year of 2012 on the box's exterior bottom.
