Beketov Ivan Viktorovich was born in 1970 in the town of Yuzha, Ivanovo Region. Now he resides in the village of Palekh, Ivanovo Region.
In 1990 the artist finished the Palekh Art School. His teachers were Bikhrev E.N., Semaikin K.S., Peskov A.S., and Buldakov V.V. The diploma work of Beketov I.V. was a casket “Dobrynya Nikitich and Zmey Gorynych”.
Ivan Viktorovich works at the Association of Palekh artists. He paints his compositions in the style of Palekh lacquered miniature using tempera paints. Themes of his works are Russian folk fairy-tales, bylinas and religious themes (icons).
Ivan Viktorovich supposes that it’s very important to find individual comprehension of a chosen theme while working at a composition. Beginning to work, he intends to improve his professional level and create the best miniature he had ever made.
The artist thinks that work on a box is finished when it is bought because it means that the box has been highly appreciated by people.
Ivan Viktorovich selects colors depending on a chosen subject. He thinks his works are easily recognizable owing to peculiar manner of painting.
Works by such famous masters as Vatagin A.I., Butorin A.N., Zubkov A.I. and Ermolaev had a great influence on the artist’s creative work.
In his free time Ivan Viktorovich likes to go fishing.
