Kukuliev Boris Nikolaevich (1936 - ...)  Click to play

Boris Kukuliev was born in 1936 in Grozny. He studied at the Palekh Art School from 1952-1957, and worked at the Palekh Art Workshops from 1957-1989. In addition to lacquer miniature, Kukuliev also is involved in mural and scenic painting (frescos in the Palace of Arts in Ivanovo) and book design.

Themes of his works include folklore, history, anc comtemporary subjects, with titles such as "Ermakov's Swans", "Virgin Soil Upturned", "Tale of the Magic Horse", "Sadko" and "Dance Motifs". Kukuliev has been participating in exhibitions since 1958. His works are now held in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the Ivanovo Regional Art Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Plyos State Historico-Architectural and Art Museum-Preserve, the Voronezh Regional Art Museum, and the Art Foundation of Russia.
