This beautiful pendant necklace is painted by Russian artist Smirnova from the lacquer miniature art village of Fedoskino. The pendant is a circular piece of opaque mother-of-pearl, which Smirnova has painted with oil paints. The composition is in the art-nouveau style, featuring a lovely woman in a flamenco style dress with flowers in her hair. The background is also painted with an array of flowers but portions of the mother-of-pearl shine through for a beautiful effect. The painting is very precise and detailed, a skill that Smirnova usually employs on lacquer boxes in the Fedoskino style of her home town. The pendant comes with a black cord necklace that is about 20 in (50 cm).
