Description:

These beautiful winter landscape has been painted by Parmenov from the village of Fedoskino. The compositions shows the riverbank covered with deep snowdrifts and two big old trees.The scene is mostly painted in white and blue tones that fit excellently for reproduction of a winter landscape. Mother-of-pearl is used to create the sun reflection in the ice on the trees. The scene is framed with thin gold lines.The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
