Description:
This splendid piece is created by famous Fedoskino artist Mikhaleov Yuriy. Fashioned in the shape of a stout cigarette case, this brightly painted scene features the Trinity Lavra in Sergiev Posad, one of the most renowned monasteries in Russia and is a central hub of Russian Orthodoxy. The scene is painted in spring when the trees are again green but the chill of winter is still lingering in the air. Mother-of-pearl makes a stunning appearance as the marble of the cathedrals.
The back and top of the piece are painted with a precise tartan pattern, while
the sides are decorated with small but elegant designs. From 1996. 3.5" x 1.5" x 3.5". By Yuriy Mikhaleov of Fedoskino
