Description:
We are happy to present You this Fedoskino piece of art with scenes from tale of the Golden Cockerel, created by Solodilov. Incredibly small, this three-dimensional piece is shaped like a cathedral and features scenes from one of Pushkin's famous tales. On the front, Tsar Dadon mar- vels at the mysterious Astrologer and his feathered answer to protecting the kingdom. The beautiful Queen of Shemakhan is pictured on the third side and the tops of the
cathedral on the back. The top
of the piece opens up to reveal a small compart- ment, with a golden crown affixed to the interior of the lid. When opened, the sides of the pieces are visibly made from mother of pearl, a testament to Solidilov's cunning
in creating lacquer miniatures. His signature is found on the bottom of the box.
