This uniquely crafted box was painted by famous Fedoskino artist Yevgeniy Solodilov and features a life-like depiction of Thumbelina sitting amidst a green meadow. The scene is nicely painted in vivid green, white and brown tones over aluminium poweder, a technique that strengthens the color tones. A piece of mothe -of-pearl helps to create a three dimensional look of the big leaves the tiny woman is sitting on, and to dd magic glow to the scene. The composition extends onto the sides of the box.
