This box is a creation of a talented artist Konstantin Danshin from the village of Fedoskino. Konstantin was born in the city of Dmitrov, in 1968. His father is a professional musician, a member of the State Symphonic Orchestra of Yu. Svetlanov. Danshin's father managed to inculcate in his son a taste for art. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled Konstantin in an art school. In 1983, Konstantin entered the Fedoskino Art School, where he studied under V.N. Frolov, N.G. Marchukov and V.D. Antonov. Now K. Danshin's works are exhibited in different museums in Russia and all over the world. Especially his works are popular in the USA, England and France.
Konstantin is fond of animals and birds, especially cats. He has a large series of the cat's works, but this one is shows the birds. They are sit on the blades of grass, partially covered with snow.
The work is very detailed.The colors depicted here and the quality of the painting are giving us an illusion of the three-dimensional view.
The rear side of a box is covered with a mixture of a golden paint with oils outlined with two parallel gold lines.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box sits flat.The work is signed by the artist.
