Description:

This majestic view of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral and the Moscow Kremlin has been painted by Viktor Tretyakov. Blue tones of oils suitable for reproduction of a winter scene dominate here. The architecture is painted with photo quality accuracy. The surrounding winter landscape is painted with smooth watercolor like brushstrokes. The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
