In this Polish fairytale, a tree holds various treasures which yield different fates - beauty, riches, or talents. Various shades of light blue oils help the artist create the atmosphere of the moonlit garden, while gold paint highlights many ele- ments of the scene. Intricate and very beautiful patterns composed of silver and gold punch-outs (scan patterns) decorate the edges of the lid and the bottom of the piece, including a gor- geous star-shaped pattern composed of gold and silver punch-outs.
