Description:
This masterful work was created by the talented Sergey Knyazev from the village of Fedoskino. It is called "A Letter for the Beautiful Lady". In the foreground the artist depicted the attractive lady who left the masquerade, and now sits in the quiet garden, and thinks about her passionate suitor. She has come here to receive a letter from this suitor, and her happy smile says that she knows that this letter will contain declaration of love. In the background we can see the gentleman, whose face is masked, he is going to hand the love-letter over to the lady.
The lady's figure is painted over the large piece of mother-of-peal that shimmers with the shades of noble white-silver tone with addition of blue and pink. The street lamps are painted over the pieces of mother-of-peal of smaller size that shimmer with bright blue and green tones. A small piece of mother-of-pearl inlaid in the area of the flower that decorates the lady's hair shimmers with beautiful violet tone. All this variety of tones and shades has been intentionally chosen by the artist. Gold metal leaf shines through the walls.
The box's exterior and interior are covered with beautiful cream paint. The scene is framed with a gold line. Another gold line can be found wrapping around the box's bottom border. The box's sides are decorated with gold blurry spots that resemble whimsical plants, and also with tiny silver snowflakes.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and the year of 2006.
