Description:
This outstanding piece created by famous Fedoskino artist, Aldoshkin.Drawing from the not-so-long past, this view of Moscow is unique in that the grand Christ our Savior Cathedral was actually completely demolished by the Soviets in the 1930s, only to be rebuilt near the turn of the century. Aldoshkin takes no shortcuts with this elegant work, from the swirling clouds to the brickwork on the retaining walls. The background elements, while appropriately muted, are nonetheless highly detailed and accurately depicted. Even the shimmering water, on close inspection, reveals countless little waves and ripples - astounding work!
