Description:

This exquisite box created by famous and talented artist Yurii Aldoshkin of Fedoskino. The scene depicts ancient Borisoglebskii monastery in town of Dmitrov. Exact date of monastery foundation is unknown. The legend mentions Duke Yrii Dolgorukii,founder of Moscow and town of Dmitrov, like a person from which the history of monastery have started. For now the oldest building of monastery is stone temple of Boris and Gleb of XVI century. we can see it at the right half of compostion. The decoration around the scene and on the sides of the box a tiny silver shapes that are applied individually by hand. The box is made from papier-mache, hinged. It is signed and dated by artist.
