Description:
Masterfully executed by elite Fedoskino artist Sergey Kozlov, this piece depicts the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg. Massive in size, the cathedral houses the famed Kazan icon of the Mother of God. Incredibly, Kozlov is able to recreate in minia- ture and in oils the dark tone and texture of the stone edifice. Mother-of- pearl is used to depict the sky and part of the waterway; blue paint over aluminum powder makes up the rest. The exterior of this glasses case is a light gray, treated to look like stone. Gold paint rings
the top and bottom, while the piece opens from the side.
