Description:

This beautiful box is a creation of Margarita Belova from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the main characters of the popular fairy-tale "Scarlet Flower" that is very similar to the American tale "The Beauty and the Beast". Here we can see the Prince presenting flower to his bride who saved him from evil spell.
Mother-of -pearl and bright gold paint decorate the scene, and strengthen festivity of the moment.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The exterior is covered with dark and light blue dust resist patterns, while the interior is traditionally red. The box is hinged from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed by the artist at the buttom of the composition: Fedoskino, Scarlet Flower,Belova M.
