Description:
Vladimir Domakhim from the village of Fedoskino painted this small oval box in the realistic style. It features two hunters riding their horses and telling each other the stories about thrilling adventures they have experienced during a hunt.
The scene is painted in the shades of gray and blue suitable for depiction of a winter season.
The composition is framed with a silver line. Two silver parallel lines wrap around the box's sides. The exterior bottom of the box is decorated with a magnificent pattern composed of silver rays that concentrate around the tiny round sheet of silver metal foil cut out and glued to the box manually.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and dark red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests on a small platform. The work is signed by the artist.
