Description:
Igor Isaev from the village of Fedoskino created this magnificent work. This artist specializes in painting landscapes and genre scenes. His works have a particular charm and grace. He likes to depict dramatic autumn landscapes and quite provincial towns with their unique 19th century architecture.
The box is called "Maples" and reproduces a special, cozy atmosphere of a small provincial town of pre-revolutionary Russia.
The scene painted on the lid is extended on the front side of the box's body. Various shades of brown dominate here; gold and aluminum paints are used for highlighting.
The scene is framed with the wide gold ribbon. The box's exterior that is free from painting is covered with light grey paint; and this light grey area is studded with tiny dark grey veins. The box's interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged at top, and the box sits flat. Signed and titled by Igor Isaev.
