Sukhovey Olga Nikolaevna (1964 - ...)  Click to play

Sukhovey Olga Nikolaevna was born in 1964 in the village of Boyvozh, Komi autonomous republic. At present the artist resides in the town of Ulyanovsk.

In 1990 Olga Nikolaevna finished the Mukhina Art and Industrial School in Leningrad. Her teachers were Lavrentiev, Khomanko, Moiseev. The diploma work of Sukhovey O.N. was a complete of decorative fabrics.

Now the artist works at home. She paints her works in the realistic style, using watercolors, tempera paints and akril. Themes of her works are Russian fairy-tales and biblical subjects.

Works by Sukhovey O.N. are kept in the private collections.

Olga Nikolaevna thinks that the most important stage in painting is creating of a character’s face that reflects his temper and mood. Beginning to paint, she intends to find her own comprehension of a subject. Finishes painting, when the further work worsens a composition.

The artist likes to paint her works in contrast tones. She uses in painting mostly cold tones, giving preference to blue colors. On the average it takes her from 5 days to a month to paint a matreshka.

Works by such prominent artist as Vrubel M.A., Botichelly, Durer, Golbein, Filimonov, Clod Mane and van Gogh had a great influence on O.N. Sukhovey’s painting.

In her free time Olga Nikolaevna communicates with her children and works in her country-cottage. She also likes going in for sport, taking stroll and reading books.
