Dmitry Zakharovich Burbyshev was a miniature artist and metal works polisher. Worked in Fedoskino from 1944--1958. Prior to 1917 worked in his father's workshop (Zakhar Timofeevich Burbyshev) in Zhostovo. Dmitry's brother is Semion Burbyshev.
In 1917, Dmitry enlisted in the Red Guard following the October Revolution. He fought in Vassily Chapaev's division during the war, then came to Fedoskino to join his family in 1944 after a twenty-five year hiatus from lacquer art.
