Timofey Burbyshev was an entrepreneur who operated a home-based workshop of paper-mache articles in his hometown of Zhostovo. His family was all involved. Timofey's son, Zakhar Burbyshev, took over the family workshop, which continued until 1917. Zakhar eventually moved with his family to Fedoskino in 1929.
The stamp that Timofey placed into his lacquer articles looked like the one below, taken from an actual Burbyshev piece from the 1880s:
Although not much information is available about Timofey, he did head a long line of lacquer miniature artists. Below is a family tree of the Burbyshev family:
