Kovalyev Valeriy Sergeevich was born in 1963 in the village of Aksakovo, where he resides at present.

In 1984 the artist finished the Fedoskino Art School. His teacher was Shchagin Alexey Vasilievich.

Now Valeriy Sergeevich works at home. He paints in the style of Fedoskino lacquered miniature. Themes of his works are various.

The artist thinks it’s very important to express inspiration of his soul to enjoy people and make them happier. Beginning to paint, he intends to make his work to the best of his abilities. He hopes people will be better and kinder having acquainted with his artwork. Finishes working, after polishing a box, when it shines and sparkles.

Valeriy Sergeevich uses in painting tones and tints that correspond to his creative inspiration. He applies in painting a special artistic method, which is called “dense painting”. The time spent on painting a composition depends on it’s size and mood of the artist.

Valeriy Sergeevich supposes people will recognize his works having acquainted with a couple of his previous boxes. Works by his teacher Shchagin A.V. had a great influence on the artist’s painting.

In his free time Kovalyev V.S. likes to travel, to communicate with his children and go for a walk with them.

The artist wishes joy and happiness to all people who like the art of lacquered miniature.
