Nikolay Alexandrovich Zotov

Was born in 1960 in Moscow, and now resides in the village of Fedoskino.

Nikolay graduated from the Fedoskino Art School in 1979. His teachers were Monashov, Marchukov, and Frolov. Zotov's diploma work was the miniature "Quartet Gvarneri". At present the master works at the Fedoskino Fine Arts Factory.

In 1991 Zotov was nominated to join the Artists' Union of the Russian Federation.

The artist creates only author works, and his art pieces have won lots of diplomas and awards. He is interested in painting on the themes of fairy-tales, genre scenes, history, and still life.

Nikolay has his personal technique; it is painting on mother-of-pearl in the traditions of Fedoskino Art. On the master's opinion his creative work is influenced by paintings of the artists of movement. Nikolay's art pieces differ greatly from others by well though-out subjects and the highest quality of their execution.

Starting a new miniature, the painter intends to create a unique artwork and to open its theme. And only when a work meets his esthetic understanding of subject, Nikolay considers it to be finished.

Works by Zotov are reserved in the museum of Fedoskino Factory, Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Museum of Applied Arts (Moscow), they also resides in many private collections in the USA, England, Germany, France.

All free time Nikolay devotes to his family, dog, and friends.

The master would like admirers of his artwork will never cease delighting in Fedoskino lacquer miniature art.
