Artists

Vladimir Babaev was born in 1952 in the town of Yuzha, situated near Kholuy. He finished the Kholuy Art School in 1977, where he studied under V.P. Bugayev. He has been employed by the Kholuy Lacquer Miniature Factory since 1977, and has been a member of the RSFSR Artists' Union since 1988. His work was first exhibited in 1984.

His major works include "The Tale of the Apples of Youth" (1984), "The Lament of Yaroslavna" (1988), and "Young Oaf" (1990).
