Babarkin Alexander Alexandrovich was born in 1949 in the village of Davydovka of Pestaykovky Region, and lived in the village of Kholuy until his passing in 2001.
The artist painted in the Kholuy tradition of fine arts and used tempera paints. Alexander Alexandrovich studied under Stepanov and Kosterin V.A. at the Kholuy Art School of Miniature Painting before finishing it in 1969. Titles of his author works included "Queen of Spades" (1980), "Anna on the Neck" (1990), and "Christmas-tide" (1992). He was a member of the RSFSR Artists' Union since 1988, and started participating in exhibitions in 1990.
The painter was most interested in painting of lyric works. He considered a drawing itself to be the most important element in his works. Prefered to paint with blue and green colors and cold color range.
Beginning to paint a new piece, Babarkin A.A. tried to paint it very well and to achieve the best result. His works may be easily distinguished by their color scheme and imagery of drawings. Babarkin believed that his pieces would be remembered for their colors, themes, and mastery of execution. In his spare time he liked to pick mushrooms in the forest and simply to rest. To his admirers he wished good health and luck in everything.
