Chernova Marina Nikolaevna was born in 1967 in the town of Rubtsovsk, situated in the Altai Territory. Now she lives in the town of Yuzha, Ivanovo Region.
In 1989 Marina Nikolaevna finished the Kholuy Art School where she studied under Denisov N.N. Her diploma work was a composition entitled “Scarlet flower”.
At present the artist works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops. Her artworks are kept in private collections all over the world.
Marina Nikolaevna paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. Her favorite themes to depict are fairy-tales, legends, lyric subjects and especially landscapes with animals.
The artist appreciates her artworks, mostly, for succulence of color treatment and harmonious color combinations. If the artist paints an author work, she intends to express the main idea and mood of it; if the artist makes a copy of some picture, she wants to paint it precisely and technically correct. Finishes painting, if she likes the final result.
Marina Nikolaevna prefers to use in painting cold and silvery tones. She thinks her personal painting technique is “plav” (plav – a liquid layer of paint applied to all the elements of the composition), which helps her to achieve peculiar softness of color and vividness of landscape.
Paintings of such famous painters as Vasnetsov, Kustodiev, Bilibin, Aivazovsky, Mitayshin and Denisov had a great influence on M.N. Chernova’s creative work.
Marina Nikolaevna likes to spend her free time with her child.
The artist wishes to all people who acquire goods of Kholuy lacquered miniature: “let my artworks put you in good spirits and inspire you to a wonderful life”.
