Chesnokova Valentina Petrovna (1950 - ...)  Click to play

Chesnokova Valentina Petrovna was born in 1950 in the village of Pestyanki, Ivanovo Region. Now she resides in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo Region.

In 1969 Valentina Petrovna finished the Kholuy Art School where she studied under Kamorin R.N., Semenov A.I. and Starikov N.V. Her diploma work was a composition entitled “Novgorod the Great”.

At present Valentina Petrovna works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops.

The artist paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. She prefers to depict in her compositions themes of fairy-tales.

Valentina Petrovna appreciates her artworks owing to high quality of painting. Beginning to work on a composition, she intends to realize all her artistic ideas and tasks. Finishes painting, when she likes a composition and any additional detail is unnecessary.

The artist prefers to use in painting warm and soft tones. She thinks her works are notable for peculiar softness and calmness of painting.

Valentina Petrovna can’t say how long it takes her to paint a composition; everything depends on a box size and a subject’s complexity.

Works by the famous artists Baburin N.I. and Vasnetsov A.M. had a great influence on V.P. Chesnokova’s creative work.

In her free time Valentina Petrovna likes to rest in the countryside.

The artist wishes to all people who acquire goods of Kholuy lacquered miniature to be delighted with acquired boxes.
