Chugunov Alexander Mikhailovich was born January 31, 1951 in the town of Yuzha, Ivanovo Region, where he resides at present.
In 1970 the artist finished the Kholuy Art School. His teacher was Bugaev V.P.
Now the artist works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops.
Alexander Mikhailovich paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature art, using tempera paints. He paints on a variety of themes, but prefers to depict fairy-tale subjects.
The artist thinks works by such well-known Kholuy artists as Baburin N.I. and Fomin V.I. had a great influence on his creative work.
A.M. Chugunov thinks his works are notable for original painting technique.
Alexander Mikhailovich can't say how long it takes him to paint a composition, everything depends on a work's complexity.
