Alexandra Dobrina was born in the village of Nizhni-Landekh, in the Ivanovo Region, in 1938. She completed the Kholuy Art School in 1960, where her teacher was Konstantin Kosterin. Dobrina was immediately employed by the Kholuy Lacquer Miniature Factory, and became a member of the Kholuy branch of teh RSFSR Artists' Union in 1988.
Dobrina has participated in various exhibitions since 1990. Her major works include "The Tales of Bazhov" (1990), "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" (1991), "The Golden Hair" (1990), and "Tsar Saltan's Fleet" (1990).
