Medvedeva Elena Mikhailovna was born in 1966 in the town of Sevastopol. Now she lives in the village of Kholuy.

In 1987 Elena Mikhailovna finished the Kholuy Art School. Her teachers were Kolganova L.I., Pechkin M.B., Babarkin V.P. and Zhivnostka L.M. Her diploma work was a composition entitled "The Tale of the Dead Princess".

Now Elena Mikhailovna works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops.

The artist paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. She paints on a variety of themes, but prefers to depict fairy-tales and scenes of falconry.

Elena Mikhailovna thinks the most important element in her artworks is painstaking elaborating of characters' faces. She likes to depict lyric images of girls and especially to paint their faces.
