Mityashina Olga Sergeevna was born in 1951 in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo Region, where she resides at present.
In 1970 the artist finished the Kholuy Art School. Her teachers were Bugaev Vladimir Pavlovich and Kosterin Alexey Mikhailovich. O.S. Mityashina's diploma work was a composition entitled "A soldier's return".
Now the artist works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops. Her works are kept in private collections all over the world.
Olga Sergeevna paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. She paints on a variety of themes, but prefers to depict fairy-tales.
The artist thinks that the most important element in painting is expressiveness and unfolding of a main character's image. Beginning to work, she intends to paint an expressive and beautiful composition. Finishes painting, when she feels that she is satisfied with her work.
Olga Sergeevna paints her compositions in pastel tones. She considers her personal art methods are laconicism and clearness. Her works are easily recognizable owing to high quality of painting and peculiar technique.
Painting of the famous Russian icon painter Andrey Rublev and other icon painters had a great influence on O.S. Mityashina's creative work.
In her free time Olga Sergeevna likes to travel.
