Morozov took up the historical epic theme. He immersed himself in history and was interested in everything: the heroics, the mentality and the everyday life of the people of old Russia. If anything, he feels closer to them than to his contemporaries. A.A. Morozov was among the first to lift the veil off the historical past, thus putting his art in the context of art history.
