Orlova Marina Nikolaevna was born in 1977 in the town of Yuzha, Ivanovo Region where she resides at present.
In 2000 Marina Nikolaevna finished the Kholuy Art School where she studied under Yolkin V.A and Gurylev V.M. Her diploma work was a composition entitled “The Tale of Tsar Saltan”.
At present the artist works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops. Her artworks are kept in private collections all over the world.
Marina Nikolaevna paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. Her favorite themes to depict are fairy-tales, bylinas, songs, landscapes and historical subjects.
The artist thinks her artworks are notable for peculiar succulence of color treatment. Beginning to work, she intends to create an original artwork. Finishes working, when she likes a composition.
Marina Nikolaevna can’t say how long it takes her to paint a composition; everything depends on a box size and a subject’s complexity.
The artist thinks people will easily recognize her artworks by coloring and painting technique.
Paintings of such prominent painters as Nikitin, Zubov, Surikov, Polenov, Borovikovsky had a great influence on M.N. Orlova’s creative work.
In her free time the artist likes to rest and to enjoy life.
