Putilov Mikhail Mikhailovich was born in 1970 in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo Region, where he resides at present.
In 1991 the artist finished the Kholuy Art School where he studied under Mikhail Borisovich Pechkin. M.M. Putilov’s diploma work was a panel entitled “Prince Yelisey”.
At present Mikhail Mikhailovich works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops.
The artist paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. He prefers to depict in his compositions themes of fairy-tales, bylinas and architecture.
Mikhail Mikhailovich supposes it’s very important to create mood of a future composition. Beginning to work, he intends to paint a miniature better and more beautiful than all previous ones. Finishes painting, when all corrections are made and a composition is utterly completed.
The artist prefers to use in painting a wide spectrum of colors. On the average it takes him from a week to a month to finish his artwork.
