Zhukov Anatoliy Lvovich was born in 1968 in the village of Cherepovo, Ivanovo Region. Now he resides in the town of Shuya, Ivanovo Region.
In 1989 the artist finished the Kholuy Art School where he studied under Zhivnostka L.M., Kolganova L.I., Mityashin P.A., Pechkin M.B. His thesis work was the composition “Ermak” painted on a historical subject.
At present Anatoliy Lvovich works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops. He paints his compositions in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. Themes of his works are Russian folk fairy-tales, bylinas, historical subjects, architectural landscapes and lyrical scenes, especially troikas. His favorite theme is a fairy-tale.
The artist thinks the most important elements in a lacquered miniature are harmonious combination of gold paints with other tones and original finishing of details. Beginning to paint, he intends to express a theme in full and reflect characters’ temper. Finishes painting, if he is fully satisfied with a final result.
Anatoliy Lvovich prefers to use in painting bright, mellow and dense colors. On the average it takes him a month to paint a composition.
The artist supposes his works are easily recognizable owing to decorativeness of details and rich ornament. Works by Mityashin P.I. and Baburin N.I. had a great influence on his painting.
In his free time Anatoliy Lvovich likes to go in for sport.
The artist wishes to all amateurs of lacquer miniature painting happiness, health and cheerful mood. He hopes his works will rank high among other boxes of their collections.
