Korsakov Vasiliy Ivanovich (1921 - 1986)  Click to play

Vasily Korsako was born in Mstera in 1921. He attended the Mstera Vocational Art School from 1933-1937, where he studied under I. Serebryakov and A. Kotyagin.

Korsako had a very active career as miniature artist and teacher that spanned forty years. In 1940, he became a member of the USSR Union of Artists. He was chairman of the Proletarian Art Artel from 1946 to 1948, and was their leading artist from 1948 to 1954. He taught painting at the Mstera Vocational Art School from 1954 until 1982. hairman of the Mstera applied arts department of the Vladimir branch of the USSR Union of Artists and member of the Board of the Regional Union of Artists from 1946 to 1967.
