Shishakov Nikolay Ivanovich (1925 - ...)  Click to play

Nikoklai Shishakov was born in Mstera in 1925. He studied at the Mstera Vocational Art School under Ivan Fomichov from 1940 to 1947. He went on to study at the Ivnaovo Pedagogical Art School from 1949 to 1951. He began teaching drawing and design at the Mstera Vocational Art School the same year of his graduation. Shishakov became a member of the USSR Union of Artists in 1962.

Shishakov's career has gained him respect and awards a like as a miniaturist and as a teacher. He became the leading artist of the Proletarian Art Artel from 1956 to 1964. He was appointed as the Young Artists' Group supervisor from 1972 to 1989. His participation in art exhibitions since 1954 has won him such awards as winner of the Repin State Prize of the RSFSR (1970), Honored Artist of Russia (1972), and People's Artist of the RSFSR (1980).
