Barkhatkina Ludmila Vladimirovna
Was born in 1961 in the village of Alexandrovka in Kakchetavsk Region. Now she resides in Palekh, Ivanovo Region.
This painter makes a speciality of Palekh miniature painting traditions and she uses tempera paints. Ludmila Vladimirovna attended Palekh Art School, where she studied under E.N. Vikhrev and B.M. Nemzhiniv.
In the artwork Barkhatkina uses the themes from bylini (the unwritten epic songs of old Russia). The master thinks it is very important she accomplishes her works in traditional Palekh style. Upon starting a new piece, Ludmila Vladimirovna aspires to choose the theme that brings kindness, warmth, affection, and lyrical mood to everybody.
The artist paints only with warm tones in her artwork. She has special techniques of her own. It is possible to distinguish her pieces from any other; the artist affirms she hasn't ever seen similar work anywhere.
In her spare time she likes to look after flowers, to knit, to embroider, and to walk in the countryside with her family.
