Vladimir Alexandrovich Brovkin was born in 1952 in the village of Staraya Vichuga in Ivanovo Region. Vladimir studied at the Palekh Art School under V.I. Golov and V.F. Morokin. The themes of Brovkin's works are folklore, literature, genre scenes, and landscape. The examples of his prominent work are such miniatures as "Seasons", "Winter Evening", "Tsar Saltan's Navy", and "Crystal Lakes".
Vladimir Alexandrovich also did monumental painting: mural of the Pioneers' Palace in Belov in Kemerovo region (1984), "Ruslan and Ludmila" in cooperation with Y.A. Shanitzyn and A.N. Klivov (1987), which was in a private collection in the USA. In 1989 Brovkin entered the Palekh Art Works and soon he became a member of the Artists' Union. Works by Brovkin are exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art.
