Borin on February 28, 1952 in nearby Shuya, Alexander Demidov studied at the Palekh Art School from 1969-1976 under V.I. Golov. He's been working at the Palekh Art Workshops since his graduation. Themes of his miniatures are usually folklore ("The Wooden Eagle", "The Sun, Moon, and Voron Voronovich", and "Seven Simeons"). He has exhibited since 1978.
In addition to lacquer miniature, Demidov is also involved with mural painting (frescoes in a kindergarden in Obninsk, Kaluga Region, 1989-1990, and frescoes in churches, such as the Ilyinsky Cathedral in Ivanovo.)
