Alexey Khokhlov was born in Palekh in 1884, where he later died in 1953. He was a member of the Artel of Ancient Painting since 1933, and immediately began participating in exhibitions, with works such as "Bear-Hunting", "Lion-Hunting", and "Knight Togenburg". Themes of his works usually involved folklore, literature, genre and hunting scenes. Today his works are on display in the State Museum of Palekh Art and
the All-Russia Museum of Decorative and Applied Art.
