Anna Khokhlova was born in 1918 in the village of Palekh, where she later died in 1982. Anna studied at the Palekh Art School from 1933-1938, and worked at the Palekh Art Workshop from 1943-1973. In addition to lacquer miniature, she painted a great deal of chinaware.
Themes of her works included literature and genre scenes. "Autumn Round Dance" and "The Snow Maiden" are two of her more famous works. Khokhlova has exhibited since 1950, and her works are now on display in the State Museum of Palekh Art and the Art Foundation of Russia.
