Alexander Albertovich Kornilov
Born in 1958 in the village of Palekh in Ivanovo region, where he currently lives with his family.
In 1983 Alexander graduated from the Palekh Art School, his teachers were such prominent masters as A.V. Borunov, B.M. Nemtinov, A.V. Gordeev, and A.S. Peskov.
Alexander Albertovich paints in the traditions of Palekh School (Stroganov style), using tempera paints. Kornilov has created the following author works: "Pushkin's Tales" (1999), "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" (1997), "Meeting of Tsar Saltan" (1996), and "Ruslan and Ludmila" (1995).
The master prefers to paint on subjects of fairy-tales, bylinas, and folklore. Harmonized composition and bright expression of a theme are the most important aspects of his artwork. As an artist, starting a miniature, he tries to find a new, original way of its execution. Work on a pattern is finished for him when it is polished.
The author believes each artist has his personal techniques, style, and sometimes his own way of work on a box. It isn't difficult to distinguish Kornilov's works by his technique of painting in gold. Alexander tries to pay attention to detailed decoration, precision of images, themes, choice of colors and paints, and total execution. His preferred coloring is silver.
In 1985 at the Exhibition of Young Artists Kornilov won one of its awards. His art pieces are reserved in private collections. Many works by the author were participants of the exhibition-sell in San Diego (the USA) in 1997.
When Alexander isn't creating boxes he likes to gather mushrooms, to go fishing, to work in his garden, and to read books.
He wishes health, good luck, and mutual collaboration to all of his admirers.
