Kryukova Valentina Vladimirovna (1970 - ...)  Click to play

Kryukova Valentina Vladimirovna was born in 1970 in the town of Gus Khrustalny. Now she lives in the town of Vladimir.
In 1991 the artist finished the Palekh Art School where she studied under N.M. Smirnov, V.F. Morokin, N.B. Gribov, A.V. and A.V. Arapov. Her diploma work was the composition “The Song of Merchant Kalashnikov”.
At present Valentina Vladimirovna works at the Palekh Craft Workshops and at the society “Association of Palekh”.
The artist paints her compositions in the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature using tempera paints. She prefers to depict fairy-tales, landscapes and genre scenes. Her favorite subjects are landscapes and architecture.
While working on a lacquered miniature Valentina Vladimirovna aims to express a chosen theme the most vividly, trying to convey its mood. Finishes working, when a composition is technically completed and a subject’s mood and image are vividly expressed.
The artist thinks that vividness and technique of painting are the most important elements in her miniatures. She prefers to use in painting mostly cold tones.
The work of V.V. Kryukova is consistently recognized for thinness of painting and cold coloring.
Valentina Vladimirovna supposes her creativity was greatly influenced by works of such well-known Palekh artists as A.I. Vatagin, I.M. Bakanov, I.I. Golikov, I.P. Vakurov.
In her free time the artist likes to read books and meet with her friends.
The artist wishes to all admirers of a Russian lacquered miniature to get pleasure from contemplating works of art.
