Populova Marina Avgustinovna was born in 1960 in the village of Krasnoe, Palekh Region. Now the artist lives in the village of Palekh together with her husband Populov E.A..
In 1976 the artist finished the Art School. Then she entered the Palekh Art School and graduated from it in 1981. Her teachers were Golov V.I., Smirnov N.M. and Khodov V.M. Her graduation project was the composition “Ivan Fedorov the First Printer” which won the medal at the Exhibition of National Economy’s Achievements.
Marina Avgustinovna works at the Union of Palekh Artists. She paints her works in the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature using tempera paints. Her favorite themes to depict are “Snegurochka”, “The Scarlet Flower”, “Morozko” and Pushkin’s tales.
The artist appreciates greatly her works for artistic image, coloring and ornamental patterns; she works on these elements with great care.
Beginning to paint, she intends to create a beautiful, technically correct composition that could surpass quality of all her previous works. Finishes painting, when she likes the composition.
The artist prefers to use in painting warm tones. She thinks her works are notable for original coloring and interesting themes.
In her free time Marina Avgustinovna likes to read books and busy herself with flower-growing.
To all admirers of her talent the artist wishes to get pleasure from contemplating boxes of Palekh artists.
