Salabanov Vasily Mikhailovich
Was born in 1902 in the village of Malinino located in the Vladimir region. He was killed in battle during the WWII.
Member of Artel of Ancient art since 1928. His teacher was the outstanding artist I.I. Zubkov.
Salabanov preferred to paint on themes of folklore, literature, genre scenes ("Elections to the Village Soviet", "Nose", "Herdsmen", "Chichikov visits Manilov").
Participant of different exhibitions since 1932.
His exquisite artworks can be currently seen in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, the State Historical and Art Museum-Preserve (Sergiyev Posad), the Museum of folk art, the Ivanovo Region Art Museum, the State Russian Museum, the All-Russia Pushkin's museum, the Gorky Museum.
