Solonin Sergey Dmitrievich was born in Palekh, Vladimir Guberniya, on October 6, 1892, died there on May 19, 1952.
Member of the Ancient Painting Guild from 1930.
Themes of his works: folklore, literature, genre scenes ("Bezhin's meadow", "Nursery", "Eugene Onegin", "The stone guest", "The maiden sees off the soldier to the front", "A maiden sits on the bank", "Deer hunting").
Began exhibiting in 1933.
Works exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the All-Russia A.S. Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg, the Folk Art Museum (Moscow), the State Historical and Art Museum-Preserve (Sergiev Posad), the Ivanovo Region Art Museum, the Russian Museum of Ethnography and the State Museum of Revolution.
