Oleg Petrovich Soloviov
Born in 1966 in Vladivostok, he currently resides in the village of Palekh in Ivanovo region.
In 1989 Oleg graduated from the Palekh Art School. He studied under Anatoliy Sergeevich Peskov, Alexander Vasilievich Gordeev, and Efim Nikolaevich Vikhrev.
Soloviov works in the traditions of Palekh miniature, using tempera paints. He is interested in depicting fairy-tales' and bylinas' subjects. The artist has many author works, including "The Tale of Tsar Saltan". Soloviov prefers to use rich colors in his patterns.
The master considers theme and technique to be the most important aspects of his art. Work on a miniature is done for Oleg when its theme has been completely revealed, that is why, starting a new piece, and first of all he strives to reveal the theme.
Oleg as most of painters has his personal technique: work with paints and gold. It is possible to tell his miniatures from any others by their subjects and composition. The master hopes admirers of his creative work will estimate at their true worth detailed paintings, precision of drawings, forms of wares, themes, accomplishment, paints and colors.
All free time Oleg likes to spend with his friends.
He wishes admirers of his art to understand and to love the art of Palekh.
