Speransky Mikhail Ivanovich - icon painter, lacquer miniaturist.
Born in Palekh, Vladimir Guberniya, on January 8, 1887, died there on June 13, 1951.
Mikhail Ivanovich designed books and did monumental paintings.
Member of the Ancient Painting Guild from 1932.
Themes of his works: folklore, literature, history, genre scenes ("The shot", "King Lear", "Tale of Tsar Saltan", "The weaver").
Began exhibiting in 1933.
His works are exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces, the Museum of Revolution, the State Historical and Art Museum-Preserve (Sergiev Posad), the All-Russia Museum of A.S. Pushkin (St. Petersburg).
