Ukolov Nikolay Nikolaevich (1959 - ...)  Click to play

Nikolay Nikolaevich Ukolov was born on May 22, 1954 in the town of Vichuga in the Ivanovo Region. Studied at the Palekh Art School in 1976-1981, then worked in the Palekh studios of lacquer miniature painting in 1981-1989. He was worked in the Creative and Industrial organization of the Artists’ Union of the RSFSR “Palekh Association” since 1989.

Ukolov gegan exhibiting in 1988. He participated in the creation of the iconostasis of the Ilya the Prophet Church in Palekh in 1991-1992 (see http://palekh.narod.ru/icons/iconilch.jpg). Themes of N.N. Ukolov’s miniature works are folklore, literature, religious themes. Works by Ukolov are exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, the Plyos State History, Architecture and Art Museum-Preserve and the Art Fund of the Russian Federation.
